A year after Michael Jackson's death caused a worldwide outpouring of shock, tears and tributes, the anniversary of his passing was being marked Friday on a quieter scale, as fans remembered their fallen King of Pop with vigils, prayer and, of course, music.

"Michael has just always been a part of my life," the 40-year-old Thomas, who has a tattoo of Jackson's dancing feet on her left wrist, said Thursday night. "I'm just hoping to embrace the fans from everywhere."Friday, DJ Jon Quick was to spin Jackson tunes at the club Taj in Manhattan for a festive affair.
Jackson died on June 25, 2009, at age 50 as he was preparing for a series of comeback concerts in London. Dr. Conrad Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death for administering the powerful anesthetic propofol to Jackson to help the pop star sleep.

At Jackson's final resting place at Forest Lawn in Glendale. Calif., hundreds of fans, some weeping, filed past barricades to get close to the mausoleum where Jackson is interred Friday morning. Some carried bouquets, others were armed with cameras to document the moment.
"We are really honored to have played a part in launching Michael's musical career and to serve as a gathering place for people to come and celebrate his lifetime of achievement," said Jonelle Procope, Apollo president and CEO.

Yugi Aoki, 33, of Tokyo, came with 13 other Japanese fans of the pop star. They were all wearing sparkling gloves and fedora hats, one of Jackson's signature looks. Aoki smiled as he described how Jackson influenced him: "Michael Jackson changed myself. We love his dancing and songs."
Jackson's family members were expected to arrive at the cemetery later in the day, said his brother, Randy Jackson.

Hollywood star Sandra Bullock was a surprise addition to the bill at a charity gig when the actress took to the stage with a guitar to help raise money.
The Oscar winning-actress, who has only recently begun a return to public life following revelations of her husband Jesse James’ affair with tattoo model Michelle ‘Bombshell’ McGee, joked with crowds at the charity event at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee after learning the show had raised over $2 million.

The line-up featured big-name stars including Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, LeAnn Rimes and Carrie Underwood, but fans were stunned when Hollywood actress Bullock stepped on to the stage.
Walking onto the stage holding an acoustic guitar, Sandra, who was there to introduce singer Faith Hill – told the crowd, “When they told me how much you all contributed, I realised I had to do more than be funny.
Armed with an acoustic guitar, Bullock told the crowd, "I'm going to bring the house down. And I'm going to do it Nashville style!"
She then picked out the first few notes of Deep Purple's Smoke on The Water, before giving up with the admission, "I can't play..."
concert also featured a brief appearance from another Hollywood star, Reese Witherspoon, who hails from New Orleans, Louisiana, taped a video message which was played at the show, in which she told the audience, "(In Nashville) we get together and take care of each other."
The money raised by the event was donated to victims of flooding in Tennessee.

ANGELINA Jolie has told Jennifer Aniston to stay away from her kids!

According to American tabloid the National Enquirer, the 35-year-old actress has angrily urged Aniston to stay away from her six children's lives.
“Angie told Brad that it was one thing for him to hang out with ‘That woman’,” a source said, “but it would be quite another if he let her see the children.
“The last thing she wants is Jen trying to act like some kind of surrogate mother to her six kids. She cannot imagine anything more distressing — and at the same time she does not want any of them getting confused about what is happening to their family.
rican tabloid claimed Jolie launched the warning because Pitt reportedly has resumed his "totally innocent" relationship with Aniston. A source told the tabloid, "Angie told Brad that it was one thing for him to hang out with 'That woman'. But it would be quite another if he let her see the children."
"Angie doesn't want the kids, and particularly the ones who are too young to understand, like 4-year-old Shiloh, why Brad is spending time with another woman." The site mentioned that Jolie didn't ban Pitt from meeting Aniston as long as he was not with the kids.
The source said, "As usual, Brad explained to her that his friendship with Jen is totally innocent and all about business. She told him that's fine and she accepts there is nothing she can do about it."

“But she said the kids might not be so understanding and might even get upset that dad was spending so much time with another woman who happens to be his ex-wife.
“Now, Angie has flat out banned him from seeing Jen when he’s with the children. Other than that, she said, what he does on his own time is his own business.”
Recent reports claimed Jolie, 35, is planning to adopt an orphan from Haiti following a recent trip to the Caribbean country.
