Angelina Jolie is so well known as an iconic sex symbol that she was Hollywood's natural choice for an upcoming 2013 "Cleopatra" remake. Her name is still connected to that project, at least on IMDB, but the "Tourist" star recently remarked during a lunch interview with the Financial Times that she sees more directing and less acting in her crystal ball.

It is obviously something she has discussed with her mate, Brad Pitt, since she includes him in the prognosis, saying they both had a great run and it's now time to look at other endeavors.Pitt has already been actively producing films since 2006, taking a leading role in several of his projects, including his latest, World War Z.

A good omen indeed, but is this a viable career move for the 35-year-old former action star? How many other actresses will ever come close to matching the record of actress and director, Ida Lupino? Lupino was the first female director in Hollywood. Her lengthy directing credits include feature films, including 1953's "The Hitch-Hiker," also the first film noir directed by a woman. She directed episodes of over 30 television series.

She took on the directing challenge in 1991 with "Little Man Tate," also starring in the comedy/drama. Foster's next directing job came in 1995 with "Home for the Holidays." The other cap Foster wore on this one was producer, not actress. "The Beaver" (2011) starring Mel Gibson and Foster, is the latest movie directed by the 48-year-old actress, and she co-starred in it as well.Canadian actress, Sarah Polley also began her acting career as a child and continued successfully into adult roles. She sat in the director's chair for the first time on a couple of shorts in 1991. With 3 other directing credits under her belt, Polley has just completed directing "Take This Waltz," starring Seth Rogen, Michelle Williams and Sarah Silverman.

Anjelica Huston has tried her hand at directing twice, and so has Melissa Gilbert. Their last efforts occurred about a decade ago. Gwyneth Paltrow also tried her hand at directing a short called "Dealbreaker" in 2005.Whether Jolie turns out to be a dabbler or a serious director, "In the Land of Blood and Honey" certainly is an ambitious start, reflecting serious social concerns.

Leonardo DiCaprio topped it for the first time, flying past last year's winner, Johnny Depp. DiCaprio, 36, landed huge paydays for blockbusters Inception and Shutter Island, reportedly earning over $50 million for the former thanks to a contract guaranteeing him a percentage of the profits. It brought Forbes' grand total of the actor's earnings to $77 million between May 2010 and May 2011.

His earnings last year were approximately $75 million, dropped to number two with $50 million. He was trailed by comedian, actor, singer, producer Adam Sandler. The 44-year-old funnyman earned an estimated $40 million last year.

Will Smith and Tom Hanks rounded out the top five with $36 million and $35 million, respectively. On the actresses list, which was released last month, Angelina Jolie and Sarah Jessica Parker tied for first, both earning $30 million.

Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon also tied for a close spot behind Jolie, 36, and Parker, 46, earning $28 million each. And even though her career has been in a downswing, Julia Roberts came in fifth with $20 million thanks to her mega-hit Eat, Pray, Love.

In evidence that there's still a huge divide between men and women in Hollywood, the highest-earning actresses raked in less than half of DiCaprio's pay. Each year, Forbes compiles data from agents, lawyers, producers and other industry insiders to estimate actors' earnings.

Christina Aguilera was born on 18th December 1980 in Staten Island New York. A leader in the parade of Mickey Mouse Club veterans who stormed pop at the turn of the millennium, Christina Aguilera was the sexy, brassy diva of the bunch .

While revealing a vocalist with considerably more power and range than her erstwhile rival. Soon, Aguilera distanced herself from the rest of the teen pop pack beginning with her carnal sophomore .

The Golden Stag International Festival. Her first big break arrived in 1998, when she recorded “Reflection” for the soundtrack of Disney’s Mulan, a performance that lead to a contract with RCA Records.

Its lead single, “Ain’t No Other Man,” was another blockbuster and Grammy winner for Christina, and the tour was her most ambitious to date. In 2008, Aguilera released her first hits collection, Keeps Gettin' Better, which was available exclusively via Target in the U.S.

She is one of the highest paid "Hollywood actresses Angelina Jolie" in the world, but the Oscar winner's main passions are actually outside of the field. In an interview with the Financial Times published Friday, Jolie, 36, opens up about becoming a mom of six has changed her relationship with work.

When I was younger I needed more. I was trying to question things in life so you find these characters that help you find things and grow."Now, she adds, "I'm older and I know who I am and I'm less interested in the character helping me answer something than in being able to answer it for myself.

She has no plans to retire in the near future, she admits: "I don't love as much as I did. I love being a mom."She and her longtime love Brad Pitt have six children together -- Maddox, 9, Pax, 7, Zahara, 6, Shiloh, 5, and 3-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne -- and the family is famous for their nomadic lifestyle. "Home is wherever we are," she says. But does she ever feel rootless? "Yes, but happily. I'm very bad at staying in one place. I'm also bad at sitting still There's so much to explore in the world So I love travel.

I prefer [being behind the camera] to acting," she admits. "I think I've learnt something from all of [the directors I've worked with] -- even the ones I didn't like I also learned a lot from Clint Eastwood about how to appreciate the members of the crew, empowering them to do their job."But Jolie doesn't plan to stay in the business forever. "As Brad and I get older we're going to do fewer films. I've been working for a long time, he's been working for a long time," she says.

Angelina Jolie was born on 4th Junuary 1975 in Los Angeles, California, USA. Like her older brother by two years, director James Haven (Voight,) Jolie seemed destined for a career in the arts. At the age of 11, she began studying at the famed Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in NYC.

Her comeliness allowed her to segue back into show business, first as a professional model, and later, as an actress in music videos. In addition to appearing in five student films directed by her older brother, Jolie became a member of the Los Angeles Metropolitan Theatre Company, where she honed her craft alongside such veteran players as Holly Hunter, Ed Harris and Amy Madigan.

She made her return to the screen playing a heroic human/machine hybrid in the above-average direct-to-video sci-fi actioner, "Cyborg II: Glass Shadows" (1993), but the entry went virtually unnoticed by critics. Luckily, her flashy role as Kate (a.k.a. 'Acid Burn') in the cyber-thriller "Hackers" (1995) garnered her more attention and better notices.

She next starred in another espionage thriller, "The Tourist" (2010), playing a mysterious British woman who pulls an unwitting American (Johnny Depp) vacationing in Italy into a whirlwind of intrigue and danger. Though attractive to look at, "The Tourist" was blasted by most critics for its slow plot and lack of chemistry between the leads. Regardless, the film earned surprising Golden Globe nominations for both Jolie and Depp.

Kate Bosworth was born on 2nd January 1983 in Los Angeles to parents Hal and Patti Bosworth, Kate and family soon moved to San Francisco followed by a diversion to Connecticut before settling in Cohasset, MA in 1997.

As much as she enjoyed the experience and looked forward to more acting work, Bosworth wisely took time of to finish high school - as a member of the National Honor Society, no less - before pursuing her career full time.

As Anne Marie, a devout surfer living in Hawaii with her two best friends, Bosworth displayed exceptional commitment to the role by adding pounds of muscle and training relentlessly in preparation for the film. Although the movie's plot took a backseat to the exotic local and intense surfing footage, Bosworth nonetheless managed to shine through as a talent to watch.

Based on a true story, the film once again paired her with her friend and admirer Spacey and despite mixed reviews, managed to cash in at the box office. After a two-year absence from the screen, Bosworth resurfaced in the long-delayed Cowboy-Ninja hybrid "The Warrior's Way" (2010), co-starring Geoffrey Rush and martial arts action star Jang Dong Gun.

Britney Spears was born on 2nd December 1981, in Kentwood, Louisiana. For more than a decade, Britney Spears has been one of the most successful—and sometimes controversial—solo acts in popular music.

When she was eight, she auditioned for a spot on the Disney Channel's The New Mickey Mouse Club. Spears did not get the part, but she did eventually achieve one childhood dream: showcasing her vocal talents on the popular entertainment competition Star Search in 1992.

She tried again for The New Mickey Mouse Club when she was 11. This time, she was picked for the cast, which also featured other up-and-coming talents such as Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and actress Keri Russell. Spears appeared on the children's variety show for two seasons.

Performing "I'm a Slave 4 U" at the 2001 MTV Video Music Awards, Spears made heads turn by dancing with a seven-foot albino python around her neck and wearing a barely-there costume.

Penelope Cruz was born on 28th April 1974 in Madrid, in Spain. She would perform re-enactments of TV commercials as a child, for her family's amusement. Cruz studied Spanish Ballet for three years, as well as learning jazz dance at Cristina Rota's school in Madrid.

Her first hit the limelight when she appeared in a pop video for the Spanish pop group La Mecano. She also worked as a presenter on the teen programme La Quinita Marcha, as well as appearances in the French erotic series Serie Rose.

Her debut film appearance came in Jamon, Jamon, a Spanish comedy, also starring Javier Bardem. She then starred in Belle Époque, which won an Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. In 1997, Cruz then appeared in Open Your Eyes, alongside Eduardo Noriega.

She also starred in Vicky Cristina Barcelona, a Woody Allen film, with Javier Bardem, Rebecca Hall and Scarlett Johansson. Penelope Cruz won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, becoming the first Spanish actress to win the award. In 2009, Cruz worked with Almodovar once again, in Los Abrazos Rotos, along with Rossy de Palma and Blanca Portillo.

Nikki Cox was born on 2nd June 1978 in Los Angeles. Cox first expressed an interest in show business at the tender age of four. She was discovered by a prominent dance agent while taking dance classes, which led to her professional debut, dancing in the comedy movie "Mac and Me".

A Los Angeles Music Center Ballet Tour; The Joffrey Ballet; Paula Abdul's video "Forever Your Girl;" "The MTV Awards" and "The Arsenio Hall Show."At the age of 10, Cox won her first television role as a guest star on the comedy Mama's Family.

Jesse Woodson James (September 5, 1847 - April 3, 1882), American outlaw, was born in Kearney, Missouri. She left his native Missouri to fight as a Confederate guerilla in the American Civil War as part of Quantrill's Raiders, participating in raids in Kansas.

She gang robbed their way across the Western frontier targeting banks, trains, stagecoaches, and stores from Iowa to Texas. Eluding even the Pinkerton National Detective Agency, the gang escaped with thousands of dollars.

She and his partners were much adored. Journalists, eager to entertain Easterners with tales of a wild West, exaggerated and romanticized the gang's heists, often casting James as a contemporary Robin Hood.

The body buried in Missouri as Jesse James was exhumed in 1995 and DNA analysis gave a 99.7% probability that it was Jesse James. A court order was granted in 2000 to exhume and test Dalton's body, but the wrong body was exhumed.

"But they'd be very welcome. We have a few famous residents in Richmond, but nobody as famous as [Angelina].

Hardin was born on 29th June 1967, in Houston, TX and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Her father, Jerry Hardin, was a prolific character actor who appeared in over 100 films and TV shows; her mother, Diane Hardin, was the acting coach behind young stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Hilary Swank, Kellie Martin, and River Ph nix. Young Melora didn't need any encouragement to go into show business, however, as she seemed born to entertain.

Inspired by Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand, Hardin was singing and writing songs from the start, even before she began taking ballet lessons at the age of five. She begged her parents to let her audition for acting roles, and when she was eight, scored a toothpaste ad on her very first outing. Her first television role, in a Little Rascals-inspired show called "Cliffwood Avenue Kids" (NBC, 1977) came at the age of 10, followed by a string of appearances on seventies guest star staples like "The Love Boat" (ABC 1977-1986) and "Diff'rent Strokes"(NBC, 1978-1985).

She took some time off to return to the East Coast, studying at Sarah Lawrence College, before heading to Europe for months of solitary world travel that would be sure to inform her future as a well-rounded actress. In 1991, the avid song-and-dance gal landed the dream role of a vintage-era nightclub singer in "The Rocketeer," contributing several songs to the film's soundtrack. Throughout the nineties, she maintained an impressive schedule as a working actress - steady appearances on shows like "Quantum Leap" (NBC, 1989-1993) and "Caroline in the City" (NBC, 1995-99) and several juicy, memorable character moments like getting Ross to talk dirty on "Friends" (NBC, 1994-2004).

Being part of an award-winning cast opened new doors for Hardin, who appeared in the Golden Globe winning film "Thank You for Smoking" (2006) and made her film directorial debut with "You" (2007).In addition to impressive work on film and TV, Hardin released two CDs of original, theatrical-tinged vocal stylings - Meloradrama and Purr. She also performed at the Globe Theater in San Diego. In 2007, she directed the play "Strip Search," which enjoyed successful runs at the White Fire Theater and the Acme Comedy Theater, both in Los Angeles.

Jorja Fox was born on 7th July 1968 in New York. Fox began the 1990s with roles in TV productions including the specials "Summer Stories: The Mall", an installment of "ABC Afterschool Specials" and "Dead Drunk: The Kevin Tunell Story", one of HBO's "Lifestories: Families in Crisis". A 1993 episode of "Law & Order" (NBC) marked Fox's transition to primetime series, where she would land a regular role as an investigator for the Chicago police on ABC's "Missing Persons" (1993-94).

In 1996, Fox began her portrayal of Dr. Maggie Doyle, a gun-toting vegetarian lesbian who was in residency at the "ER" (NBC). A recurring character from 1996 through 1999, Doyle had some powerful scenes and storylines in the course of her run, and Fox handled her character with a combination of grace, reserve and vulnerability. Known to a wide audience for her portrayal of Maggie, Fox was featured in the groundbreaking 1997 "coming out" episode of ABC's "Ellen".

In 1999, Fox began a recurring role on the acclaimed NBC drama "The West Wing" playing Gina Tuscano, the Secret Service agent in charge of protecting the daughter (Elisabeth Moss) of the President of the United States (Martin Sheen). Leaving in 2000 to work full-time on "CSI", Fox and Tuscano could feasibly return to "The West Wing" thanks to an open-ended exit, but the success of "CSI" would seem to make such insurance unnecessary.

Though television has hosted her greatest successes to date, Fox has appeared in several films since her debut. A supporting role as Alan Arkin's love interest in the unimpressive comedy "The Jerky Boys" was one of three of the actress' big screen appearances in 1995, including black comedy "Dead Funny" and the romance "Alchemy". In 1997, in addition to a featured role in the NBC miniseries "House of Frankenstein 1997", Fox added to the less-seen but far more critically acclaimed independent feature "How to Make the Cruelest Month".

Eva Longoria was born 15th March 1975 in Corpus Christi, TX, Longoria was the youngest of four daughters born to Enrique Longoria, Jr., and Ella Eva Mireles. Her early years were difficult ones - work on her parents' farm yielded little income, and she suffered through an awkward phase in her childhood, made worse by the relentless taunts of her older siblings.

While fashion modeling was Longoria's original interest, acting soon took hold as her primary goal. A role in a stage production of "What the Rabbit Saw" preceded her first screen appearances on "Beverly Hills, 90210" (Fox, 1990-2000) and the daytime soap opera "General Hospital" (ABC, 1963- ).

Longoria's success on "The Young and the Restless" naturally led to opportunities in primetime television and in feature films. For a while it seemed as though her career might meet the same unfortunate fate endured by many soap opera stars who attempted to move beyond the daytime world.

She also served as producer of "Harvest" (2010), a documentary about the plight of migrant children working as produce farmers. Her happiness was cut short in November 2010 when it was announced she had filed from divorce from Parker, with tabloids insinuating possible cheating on his part via texts exchanged with a teammate's wife.

Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt might finally be tying the knot. Question now is -- where will they get married?Venue choices for the occasion are vast for the millionaire couple who have been together for six years ever since they worked together on Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

France is the exotic location that several sources believe is a prime spot for the two to have their wedding. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have recently renovated their Chateau Miraval in Correns, France which comes complete with a 16th century chapel. It seems like a wonderful setting.

Chances are, according to sources, that the wedding will be low-key and will probably focus on including the children who obviously want to see their parents married. So, maybe this time it's for real and whether it happens in France or another place, the wedding will most certainly be beautiful.

Steven Tyler is experiencing a comeback of sorts due to his new gig as "American Idol" judge (while keeping show's producers ready to jump on the censor button due to his wild, say-anything critique approach!) - and the Aerosmith frontman says he's loving every second of his career's explosive resurgence.

Steven, who has admittedly battled with substance abuse in the past, now proudly boasts a year-and-a-half of sobriety, according to People -- a feat he partially credits to the excitement of his reality show gig."I don't snort J. Lo either, though I do breathe her in," he added of his fellow "Idol" judge, Jennifer Lopez.

Left up to my own devices, I probably would have been dead several times over," he told People. In addition to serving as a Season 10 "Idol" judge, Steven has penned a memoir, "Does the Noise in My Head Bother You?" which is slated for release on May 3.

The 63-year-old artist will also appear in an interview on NBC's "Dateline" with Matt Lauer on Sunday at 7 PM.Catch the full Rolling Stone and People interviews with Steven when both magazines hit newsstands on Friday.

Mila Kunis asked the data systems technician gained fame — and apparently a date — when he posted a video on YouTube last week inviting the "Black Swan" star to accompany him to the Marine Corps Ball in Greenville, N.C., in November. The annual event marks the founding of the Marines in 1775.

Her publicist, Melissa Raubvogel, had no comment Tuesday.Moore said Tuesday that he made the video after a fellow Marine bet he wouldn't.Standing on a base in Afghanistan and wearing his uniform and black sunglasses, he says on the 19-second video: "Hey Mila. It's Sergeant Moore, but you can call me Scott. I just wanted to take a moment out of my day to invite you to the Marine Corps Ball on November 18th in Greenville, N.C., with yours truly. So take a second, think about it and get back to me."

The corps' anniversary ball is one of the most important events on a Marine's calendar, according to spokeswoman Capt. Kendra Hardesty. Balls are held at bases and less formal celebrations by units in the field to mark the Nov. 10, 1775, founding of the branch.Balls at garrisons are formal affairs, following a ceremony established in 1952. At each ball, the Marine Corps commandant's birthday message is read, along with a 1921 order issued by Maj. Gen. John A. Lejeune summarizing the tradition and mission of the corps.

Kunis won't be the first celebrity to attend a Marine birthday ball. Other Hollywood stars who've attended over the years include action film actor Chuck Norris and R. Lee Ermey, a retired Marine whose most famous role was an intense drill instructor in the film "Full Metal Jacket."

Jaycee Dugard says she didn't know she was pregnant when she gave birth to her first child."I didn't know I was in labor," she told Diane Sawyer on Primetime.

She was kidnapped at age 11 in 1991 and held in captivity for 18 years by Phillip and Nancy Garrido, got pregnant at 13, but she didn't understand sex or why she was gaining weight.

Her memoir, A Stolen Life, she writes that the Garridos told her she was pregnant and gave her birthing videos to watch to prepare for labor since there would be no medical care. She gave birth to a daughter in 1994 in the Garridos' backyard.

I saw her,It was very painful, then — she was beautiful," Dugard said. "I felt like I wasn't alone anymore. I had somebody that was mine. I wasn't alone and I knew I could never let anything happen to her. I didn't know how I was going to do that but I did."
