The 'Million Dollar Baby' star Hilary Swank has urged people to support a new scheme to rehouse unwanted pets.She became an ambassador for the Home for the IAMS Holidays Pet Adoption Campaign, which helps animals in shelters find new owners.
"I''m so proud to be working to help raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.
"We''re on a mission to find loving homes for 1.5 million orphaned pets between October 1st and January 4th,” she also added.
“Last year, the program''s adoption goal was to get one million pets adopted in just three months, but this year the goal is even bigger.
The animal loving Oscar-winner has previously adopted many pets, most recent being her two dogs, Karoo and Rumi.

Walker is the first child for Menzel and Diggs.The couple, both 38,the couple met in 1996 when they starred in the original Broadway production of the musical Rent. They wed in January 2003.
