Gina Gershon was born 10th June 1962 in California's San Fernando Valley to parents Stan Gershon, a salesman, and Mickey Koppel, an interior designer, Gershon was raised in Woodland Hills - though she was anything but a typical "Valley Girl." Interested in acting from a young age, Gershon as a child began to perform in plays, including Bye Bye Birdie.

Next, Gershon moved to New York City to study philosophy and Psychology at NYU. Pursuing theater on the side, Gershon and a number of theater colleagues - including Sarah Jessica Parker and Rob Morrow - formed the theater group, Naked Angels. She went on to perform in a number of stage productions with the company, including performances of "Camille" and "The Substance of Fire."

A natural talent on screen, Gershon began to land a number of small film roles. She appeared opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jim Belushi in "Red Heat" (1988) and portrayed one of Tom Cruise's love interests in "Cocktail" (1988). Though her scenes in Spike Lee's "Jungle Fever" (1991) wound up on the cutting room floor, Gershon went on to work with even more acclaimed directors, including parts in John Sayles'.

Taking a rock star turn in real life, Gershon went on tour to promote the film, backed by rock band Girls Against Boys and documented by IFC in the series "Rocked!" (2004). She went on to guest star on a number of TV series' including "Curb Your Enthusiasm" (HBO, 2000- ), "The Practice" (ABC, 1997-2004), "Crossing Jordan" (NBC, 2001- ) and ABC's hit, "Ugly Betty" (2006- ) - starring in the latter as over-the-top makeup executive, Fabia.

London - Emma Watson was "soaked with a vat of water" prior to her Harry Potter kiss.

The 21-year-old actress - who has played Hermione Granger in the wizard franchise since she was just 10 - smooches co-star Rupert Grint in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and admitted the pair were worried about the hotly-anticipated moment "living up to all the hype".

She said: "We knew that we'd been building the anticipation of this moment for 10 years. It'd been going on for so long. Rupert and I really wanted to make sure it lived up to all the hype. We were nervous, it was awkward, but I think we did the moment justice.

"The funny thing about it is the moment before we kissed, we get soaked with a vat of water so we had that going on as well."

Emma - who broke down in tears as she addressed fans at the premiere of the final movie in the franchise at London's Trafalgar Square - explained she will "really miss" living in the wizardly world of her alter-ego.

Addressing co-stars, Rupert Grint and Daniel Radcliffe - who play Ron Weasley and Harry Potter respectively - she added "I will really miss those boys. I will really miss Rupert and Dan. I will really miss being Hermione and living in her world."

Stacy Keibler was born in Baltimore on 14th October 1979, Stacy Anne-Marie Keibler grew up wanting to be a star. Her parents, Gary & Patricia, nourished their only child’s dream by taking her to ballet, tap and gymnastics lessons. By age five, Keibler had even earned her SAG card.

She joined the Baltimore Ravens cheerleaders in 1998, where she graced a Ravens trading card. A year later, Keibler’s life changed forever when she entered a dance contest for a spot in the WWE Nitro Girls lineup. After winning the contest and $10,000, Keibler joined the crazy world of wrestle-mania by dancing with her fellow Nitro Girls during commercial breaks of “WCW Monday Nitro” (1995-2001).

After only a month, she was promoted from sideline dancer to wrestler in the ring – using the stage name Miss Hancock on TV’s popular “WCW: Saturday Night” (1991-2000). Keibler learned the ropes and soon became a fan favorite – especially when administering her trademark moves like the spinning karate kick and the foot choke.

The less talented dancer but beloved former football great Jerry Rice bested Keibler with viewer votes, providing the only shock of the night. The "Dancing with the Stars" champion -- once Keibler lost her shot -- went, not suprisingly, to former 98 Degrees singer and brother of Nick, Drew Lachey.

Maria Shriver has bought a new home in OJ Simpson's former neighbourhood as she plans life after Arnold Schwarzenegger

The new home is located in the swanky Brentwood neighborhood, not far from the family home she shared with Schwarzenegger during their 25-year-marriage.

Shriver, 55, officially filed for divorce from the former California governor last week - two months after Schwarzenegger, 63, revealed he had fathered a child with a former household employee during his marriage to Shriver.

And she's already moving on from her broken marriage - Shriver has bought a new $US10 million ($A9.38 million) home in Brentwood, California - not far from the estate she shared with Schwarzenegger during their marriage, according to TMZ.com.

Schwarzenegger, who has four children with Shriver, could even exceed his legal obligations and give his soon-to-be ex-wife the majority of his Hollywood fortune in their upcoming settlement, a source told Radar Online.

The settlement proceedings will be overseen by a private judge, the source added, in order to prevent details of the pair's marriage from leaking to the media.

U.S singer Mariah Carey is set to assist Simon Cowell at the judge's houses rounds of US 'X Factor'.

The X Factor creator said back in April that Carey would have a small part in the U.S. show premiering in September, but now she may be headed for a more substantial, full-time gig with the reality competition

However, 42-year-old Sinitta - who previously dated Brad Pitt - is not happy with the decision.

She told the Daily Star newspaper: 'Well, let's just say feathers will fly if Mariah takes my spot. Although she is a mega diva vocally, you can expect another 'X Factor' USA drama. I won't just roll over and take it. I hope she can run in high heels.'

In April, Simon spoke of his desire to have Mariah involved with the programme, but admitted he was unsure in what capacity.

He said: 'I think Mariah will have a role on the TV live shows. I met her recently and she was on great form. And her idea was to be the judge of the judges, which only Mariah could come up with

The audition stages of the 'The X Factor' are currently taking place, with British singer Cheryl Cole sensationally sacked from the programme after taking part in just four episodes, to be replaced by Nicole Scherzinger.

Emma Watson interview the last ever Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2, in London's Trafalgar Square.

Former child star Emma Watson would discourage her own children from following in her footsteps by entering showbusiness.

The British actress shot to fame as a youngster after she was cast in the Harry Potter film franchise at the tender age of nine, and has credited her family with keeping her grounded over the years.

At a press junket to promote the latest Potter film, Watson was asked whether she would let a child of her own enter show business. "No... I probably wouldn't," she replied, before adding, "If she really, really wanted to do it, then I would just make sure I was with her. I would make sure that she had the supportive family around her that I did."

Executive producers Stephanie Savage and Joshua Safran told website TV Line: "Elizabeth's sense of humour, intelligence and beauty fit the Gossip Girl world perfectly. We feel very fortunate to have her."

But now Hurley's set to hit TV screens, playing New York media mogul Diana Payne in Gossip Girl's upcoming fifth season.

She and her family attended an end-of-year awards ceremony at her school, where she won several awards for academics and physical fitness. Early the next morning, about an hour after midnight, Smart was awakened in the bedroom she shared with her younger sister Mary Katherine by the sound of footsteps and the feeling of cold metal against her cheek.

After several months, it suddenly occurred to Mary Katherine that the kidnapper resembled a man who had once worked on their home as a handyman and who had called himself Immanuel. Police discovered that Immanuel was a man named Brian David Mitchell, and in February 2003 America's Most Wanted aired his photograph. Finally, on March 12, 2003, a passerby recognized Mitchell walking with Smart—who was veiled and wearing a wig and sunglasses.

Keri Russell was born on 23March 1976 in Fountain Valley. Her father was an automotive executive, which led to several family relocations including a move to Mesa, AZ when she was young. While in Mesa, Russell began studying ballet and jazz dance, eventually touring the country with a dance and drill team.

A chance discovery by a talent scout who saw photos of her performing led to various television appearances and culminated in a three-year gig as a regular performer on The Disney Channel's "Mickey Mouse Club" from 1991 through 1994. Russell's co-stars during her tenure included fellow future stars Justin Timberlake.

Eventually, Russell left the Disney fold to try her hand at different television series and movies, including the short-lived Dudley Moore sitcom "Daddy's Girls" (1993-94). She moved on to play an innocent babysitter trapped in a web of deceit when she is framed for her employer's murder in "The Babysitter's Seduction" (1996), and snared a starring role in the indie "The Lottery" (1996), a small town thriller loosely based on the Shirley Jackson short story.

Uma Thurman was born on 29 April 1970 in Boston.Hailing from a highly intellectual background, she might have expected to lead an academic life. Instead, much to her bewilderment and horror, she was seized upon by Hollywood and thrust into the limelight as the latest teen sex symbol - a status that betrayed both her past and her desired future.

Following an unorthodox childhood spent being raised a Buddhist and modeling in New York at a young age, actress Uma Thurman jumped into feature films at 16 years old and never looked back. After mature performances in two independent films, Thurman broke through as an ingénue in the erotic drama "Dangerous Liaisons" (1988).

Her maternal grandfather, Baron Karl von Schlebrugge, was a Swedish nobleman who was jailed by the Nazis during World War II for refusing to betray his Jewish business partners, and her maternal grandmother, Brigit Holmquist, was a famous model in Sweden who, in 1930, posed nude for a statue that overlooked the harbor in Smygehuk.

After leaving the Northfield Mount Herman School, where she performed in plays, and Amherst Regional Junior High School, she moved to New York on her own to attend the Professional Children's School and earn a substantial amount of money as a model.

Sarah Shahi was born Aahoo Jahansouz in Euless, Texas, to an Iranian father and Spanish mother. She is a former National Football League cheerleader and a great-great-granddaughter of the 19th-century Persian Shah Fath Ali Shah Qajar by Begom Khanom.

Her lineage on the latter side could be traced to a 19th-century shah - in Euless, TX on Jan. 10, 1980, Shahi was an overachiever at an early age, participating in sports and beauty pageants, training as an opera singer, and earning a brown belt in karate.

While exploring that venue, Shahi joined up with the iconic Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders from 1999-2000, ending up as the first rookie to ever grace the cover of their calendar. During this time, she also appeared in layouts for Muscle and Fitness and Curve magazines, and toured the Balkans and Southern Europe as part of the U.S.O.

She relocated to Los Angeles and began working almost immediately in television and film. Shahi graduated quickly from bit parts, to recurring roles on series like "Alias" (ABC, 2001-06) and "Dawson's Creek" (The WB, 1999-2003). A turn in the 2003 theatrical comedy "Old School" also earned her numerous male fans, after she gave an impressive pantomime of oral sex.

Maria Shriver was born on November 6, 1955, in Chicago, Illinois. Shriver is the daughter of prominent politican and diplomat Sargent Shriver and Eunice Kennedy Shriver, sister of John F. and Robert Kennedy. She graduated from Georgetown University in June 1977 with a B.A. in American studies.

She was a reporter for NBC's Dateline NBC from 1989 until August of 2003, when she took a leave of absence when her husband, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger, became a candidate in the California recall election. Upon his inauguration as the 38th Governor of California on November 17, 2003, Shriver became the First Lady of California.

She helped develop and launch a special website to match volunteers with organizations needing assistance. Shriver supported the construction of playgrounds and community gardens in lower income areas.Serving as executive producer, Shriver helped bring the documentary The Alzheimer's Project to television in May 2009.

Advancing understanding of the disease and supporting medical research is a personal mission for Shriver. Her father had Alzheimer's disease.Later that year, Shriver experienced two great personal losses. Her mother died on August 11th at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, Massachusetts

Kristin Kreuk was born in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her father, Peter Kreuk, is of Dutch ancestry and her mother, Deanna Che, is of Chinese ancestry; both are landscape architects. She also has a younger sister, Justine Kreuk.

She had no previous experience in acting other than musicals at her high school, was convinced to audition for the role by her drama teacher. Much to her surprise, she won the part. After shooting the first season of Edgemont and getting herself an agent, Kreuk landed the lead role of Snow White in a TV movie entitled Snow.

The program (which was slated to be shot in Vancouver) was to revolve around the life of teenager Clark Kent, alias Superboy. Gough and Millar called Kreuk to the WB's studios in Burbank, California to audition for the role of Clark Kent's pre-Lois Lane love, Lana Lang.

She wrapped up her role on Edgemont. She was also tapped for her first feature film role in the summer of 2003; she made a cameo appearance in the movie Eurotrip, starring Scott Mechlowicz and Michelle Trachtenberg. The film, shot in Prague, Czech Republic, also featured cameos by Matt Damon and Lucy Lawless.

Kristen Bell's breakout role as feisty, teen detective-in-training "Veronica Mars" (UPN, 2004- 07) might have been surprised to know that the young actress' roots were in musical theater. She had already appeared on Broadway twice when she was cast in the lead of the critically acclaimed TV series.

While Bell's fledgling film career included brief dips into horror and little-seen indie comedy, a leading role in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" (2008) launched her romantic comedy career and bumped up her status to big league Hollywood films, where her self-possessed demeanor, quick wit and dark edge made her a film and TV star simultaneously.

She had secured an agent and was appearing in print advertising for local retailers; eventually working her way up to local television commercials. Theater continued to be a passion, and while attending the Shrine Catholic High School in the Detroit suburb of Royal Oak.

Bell was also cast as the kidnapped daughter of the President in David Mamet's largely unseen thriller "Spartan" (2004), and had a recurring role as a conniving grifter who meets an unpleasant end in HBO's gritty, wild West drama, "Deadwood" (HBO, 2004-06). But 2004 was best remembered as Bell's breakout year - thanks to a quirky family drama (of sorts) called "Veronica Mars."
