Lady GaGa debuted a new song called You And I at Elton John’s White Tie and Tiara ball last week.
"This is a brand-new record that no one's ever heard before ... ever," she said while seated at one of her signature deconstructed pianos and wearing a bedazzled black bra and panties with black boots. "And I've never, ever played it live, ever."
On her Twitter, she described "You and I" as a "new song ... written in NY on the piano I grew up on."
She wasn't kidding about the song having a rock edge, as the tune eschewed most of her dance flavor, right down to a rollicking barrelhouse piano solo, during which she stood up on the piano bench and bashed out some John-worthy runs on the black and whites. She finished the tune crouched on the bench, wailing, "You and I," while pumping her fist, before giving it a big finish that included kicking a heel up on the keyboard and lying across the piano bench with her head on the ground.
Gaga also took the stage in a wheelchair with her chest covered in fake blood and accompanied by an oiled-up male dancer for a run through "Alejandro," and she performed her ballad "Speechless." During the latter, John came out and joined her for a dueling-pianos showdown, trading off verses on the tune dedicated to Gaga's dad and then reprising their Grammys duet with a snippet of his hit "Your Song," during which he improvised the line, "I hope you don't mind that I wrote down in words/ How wonderful life is with Gaga in the world."

June 15 /PRNewswire/ Dearly Beloved on June 27 we will gather at the Shrine Auditorium and mark the 10 year anniversary of the hottest award show in cable television, the BET AWARDS. This year, BET will honor the musical legacy and genius that is Prince as the recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award, an honor bestowed to the most significant and influential individuals in music history.
The 52-year-old Minneapolis native was feted Sunday night at the BET Awards in the Los Angeles with an all-female musical tribute.
In a purple button-up, black slacks and vest, Trey sang his recent hit "Yo Side of the Bed" atop a stage bathed in purple lights. The track's video, featuring Keri Hilson as a military officer and Trey as her mourning husband after she's killed in the line of duty, played in the background on large screens. During the performance, Trey gave a shout-out to all who've lost a special someone.
Janelle Monae offered an energetic take on "Let's Go Crazy." Jazz musician Esperanza Spalding accompanied herself on standup bass for "If I Was Your Girlfriend." Alicia Keys started behind the piano, then climbed on top of it, when she sang "Adore," and Patti LaBelle kicked off her shoes to give her all to "Purple Rain."
The singer then launched into the first verse of Prince's 1984 classic "Purple Rain" from the film of the same name. As Trey strained to hit falsetto notes almost on his knees, the camera cut to Prince himself seated in the audience looking on.
"We are humbled that Prince will be our lifetime achievement award recipient," said Stephen G. Hill, President of Programming, Music and Specials. "Genre smasher, virtuoso musician, one of the most emotional singers of all time; words are too weak to describe just what he means to our culture. We have a different kind of tribute planned for him as his unique style deserves a unique honor. Prince is dynamic. Prince is genius. Prince is music."
Earlier in the evening, the Virginia native won the award for Best Male R&B Artist and brought his mother onstage with him to accept his trophy. Following the awards show, BET will debut Trey's documentary "My Moment," which follows the singer during Jay-Z's recent Blueprint 3 Tour.
Prince started recording in 1977 and has 10 platinum albums and 30 Top 40 singles to his name.

A source tells E! News that the undercover couple was "all over each other" while attending a rooftop party at the Thompson Hotel.
And we're talking full on PDA here, Twi-hards, not just hand-holding. "They were kissing, nuzzling, holding hands and embracing," the source tells us.
More platonic partygoers included Taylor Lautner and the rest of the cast, who entered the bash through the back entrance. This is the second year in a row they've celebrated at the hotel.
