Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber Win Big at Teen Choice Awards 2011
0 comments Posted by SRAINA at 1:12 AMWith five wins each, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift received more trophies than any other individuals at the Teen Choice Awards.Gomez was named Choice TV Actress and Choice Female Hottie.
With her band, the Scene, Gomez also picked up the Choice Music: Group, Choice Music: Single and Choice Music: Love Song plaudits. Swift, meanwhile, was named Choice Music: Female Artist, Choice Music: Female Country Artist, Choice Red Carpet Fashion Icon: Female, in addition to picking up awards for Choice Music: Country Single and Choice Break-Up Song.
Gomez's boyfriend Justin Bieber was (where else?) right on her heels with four honors: Choice Music: Male Artist, Choice Male Hottie, Choice Twit and Choice TV: Villain for his guest stint on CSI.
Big honors also went to the Harry Potter film franchise, which nabbed seven awards and was saluted with a montage at the end of Sunday's awards ceremony.
Other multiple winners included The Vampire Diaries (five awards), The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (four), Bad Teacher (three), Glee (three), Gossip Girl (three) and Pretty Little Liars (three).
The show, which aired live on Fox, was notable for featuring Sean Kingston's first public appearance after his watercraft accident.
Demi Lovato, who entered treatment for "emotional and physical issues" in November, was also on hand to pick up the Choice Summer Song award for "Skyscraper." "You guys are what got me through this last year," she told the crowd.

Rihanna has become one to watch on the red carpet. The 23-year-old definitely knows how to snag the spotlight, whether she's wearing a Dolce & Gabbana tuxedo suit (like she did to the 2009 Met Gala) or a see-through Jean-Paul Gaultier gown (like she wore to this year's Grammy Awards). So what inspires her crazy sense of style? The "Umbrella" singer tells all in the September issue of Glamour.
However, Rihanna, who just two-and-a-half years ago was at the center of a domestic violence scandal with then-boyfriend Chris Brown, says she often feels pressured to be perfect for her younger fans. "I want to set the right example and, at the same time, live my life.... I feel like pop stars can't be rock stars anymore because they have to be role models, and it takes the fun out of it for us, because we just want to have fun with art."
Katy Perry was born on 25th October 1984, in Santa Barbara, California. Known for her over-the-top fashions, quirky stage props, and catchy songs, Katy Perry has become a pop music sensation.Fans might be surprised to learn that the singer who writes about sexual exploration in "I Kissed a Girl" grew up in a very conservative family.
Both of her parents are pastors, and they refused to let her listen to any rock or popular music. "The only things I was allowed to listen to were the Sister Act 1 and 2 soundtracks," Perry told Entertainment Weekly. Perry started taking singing lessons around the age of 9 and learned to play guitar when she was 13. Around this time, she began rebelling against her strict upbringing by piercing her own nose.
She was exposed to other musical influences. One friend introduced her to the music of Queen, which remains one of her favorite groups. "I'm very inspired by Freddie Mercury and how flamboyant and theatrical he was," she told fashion magazine WWD. In high school, she strove to be her own person, choosing not to limit herself to one social group.
She said the single was inspired by the emo scene, and the "guys with guy-liner who use flatirons." Still, her career did not fully take off until the release of her next single, "I Kissed a Girl," which reached the top of the charts during the summer of 2008. With that song's success, her debut album, One of the Boys, made it into the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song also earned Perry a Grammy Award nomination for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.
Another hair color for Katy Perry, who was spotted in L.A. on Monday with pink locks, a major difference from the blond hair she debuted just last week at "The Smurfs" premiere. Plus, a radiant Sandra Bullock makes a surprise appearance at the premiere of pal Ryan Reynold's new flick.
"The Change-Up" Monday night, and John Stamos posts some pics of himself and Nick Jonas rehearsing for their Hollywood Bowl production of the Broadway musical "Hairspray."

Reese Witherspoon was born on 22th March 1976, in New Orleans, LA. Her mother was a professor with numerous degrees, including a PhD in pediatric nursing, while her father was a surgeon as well as a lieutenant in the Army Reserves. His military post led the family to relocate to Weisbaden, Germany, shortly after Witherspoon was born. She spent her infancy overseas before the family returned to the United States and settled in Nashville, TN.
The youngest of two kids as well as the only daughter, Witherspoon was bookish and ambitious, simultaneously planning to go into medicine like her parents, but also telling the girls in the schoolyard at the private Harding Academy that she was going to be the next Dolly Parton. A family friend recruited the perky blonde for a local TV commercial when she was seven; thus marking the humble beginnings of the girl who would one day find herself among the highest paid actresses in Hollywood.
Inspired by her brush with local fame, Witherspoon began taking acting lessons, and when she was 11 years old, took first place in a multi-state talent competition. For the next several years, Witherspoon maintained her focus on schoolwork and cheerleading, as well as absorbing her traditional Southern upbringing, which she would later credit with her strong work ethic and sense of responsibility. Her accomplished mother and grandmother instilled self-respect and high moral standards, which probably came in handy sooner than expected when their 14- year-old daughter inadvertently landed the lead role in a Hollywood film.
Though vehemently denied by both camps, Witherspoon was soon spotted with CAA talent agent, Jim Toth, in early 2010. Toward the end of the year, Witherspoon and Toth were a confirmed couple, complete with numerous photos ops with her children, while Gyllenhaal had reportedly moved on to actress Rachel Bilson. Back on the big screen, Witherspoon starred as a female professional softball player torn between a corporate executive (Paul Rudd) and a Major League Baseball pitcher (Owen Wilson) in James L. Brooks' love triangle comedy, "How Do You Know" (2010).
