Hilary Swank was born on 30thJuly 1974 in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA, which the actress referenced frequently when expressing astonishment over her journey to earning her first Academy Award win years later. A self-described "outsider" in school, the athletic young Swank competed at a state-ranking level in both swimming and gymnastics but felt most comfortable when she was lost in a movie or novel.

She learned to escape into characters on stage, and became active in school and regional repertory theater. Her mother was supportive of her daughter's talent and dreams of becoming an actress, so when Swank's parents separated in her teens, she and her ambitious daughter moved to Los Angeles.

Just weeks later, Swank auditioned to portray Brandon Teena in "Boys Don't Cry" (1999), the fact-based story of a transgender young man from the Midwest whose murder made headlines. The beautifully realized independent film from director Kimberly Peirce presented numerous challenges for Swank, who cut off her long hair, worked with both an acting coach and a trainer, and created a male alter ego which she adopted full-time for close to a month prior to production.

She followed up with another heroic leading role in "Conviction" (2010), playing a woman who spends a decade putting herself through law school in order to represent her brother (Sam Rockwell), who is incarcerated after a wrongful murder conviction. Swank's solid performance earned substantial critical praise, as well as a Screen Actors Guild Award nomination for Best Actress in a Motion Picture.

Julia Stiles was born on 28th March 1981 in New York City, New York, USA, She was raised by her father, John O'Hara, a businessman and educator, and her mother, Judith, a potter. When she was 11 years old, Stiles was prescient enough to write a letter to a stage director convincing him to hire her for an avant-garde production, leading to performing with the La MaMa Theatre Company in New York.

She offered a strong supporting performance as Phoebe, a young girl coping with an abusive home in the Oprah Winfrey-produced "Before Women Had Wings" (ABC, 1997). While her character was peripheral, she made the most of the part as the ambivalent older sister of an innocent and trusting girl (Tina Majorino), both of whom suffer at the hands of their mother (Ellen Barkin).

She made it seem as if none of the Bard's work could be modernized without her participation after she was cast as Desi in "O" (2001), a retelling of "Othello" set in a prep school, and starring Mekhi Phifer and Josh Hartnett. Filmed in 1999 but not released theatrically until 2001, thanks to its theme of teen violence and the rash of real-life incidents, "O" was somewhat lost in the shuffle despite its powerful storytelling and strong performances.

She next turned to the small screen for a 10-episode guest starring stint, playing the new love interest of everyone's favorite serial killer (Michael C. Hall) on the popular "Dexter" (Showtime, 2006- ). Hailed by critics, her performance earned the young actress a Golden Globe nomination for Best Supporting Actress in late 2010.

Kate Moss was born on 16th January 1974, is an English model. Moss is known for her waifish figure and, popularizing the heroin chic look in the 1990s, which made her a supermodel. She is also famous for her controversial private life, high profile relationships, party lifestyle, and drug use. Moss changed the look of modelling and started a global debate on eating disorders, and her role in size zero fashion.

She was born in Addiscombe, Croydon, London to Linda Rosina (Shepherd), a barmaid, and Peter Edward Moss, a travel agent.[4] Kate has a younger brother named Nick and a half-sister named Lottie and half-brother.[citation needed] Moss' parents divorced when she was 13. She attended Ridgeway Primary School and Riddlesdown Collegiate, but most commonly known as Riddlesdown Highschool, in Purley. She was not noted for her academic success, while she did excel at sports.

She was discovered in 1988 at the age of 14 by Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Model Management, at JFK Airport in New York City,[7] after a holiday in the Bahamas. Moss's career began when Corinne Day shot black-and-white photographs of her, styled by Melanie Ward, for British magazine The Face when she was 16, in a photo shoot titled The 3rd Summer of Love.

Her gold statue was made of Moss in 2008 as part of a British Museum exhibition. Entitled Siren, the 50 kg (110 lb) hollow statue was made by Marc Quinn, who described Moss as "the ideal beauty of the moment". The statue is said to be the largest gold statue to be created since the era of Ancient Egypt.Quinn had previously unveiled a painted-bronze, life-size sculpture of Moss in a contorted yoga pose, titled Sphinx.

Anne Hathaway was born on 12th November 1982 in Brooklyn, New York, USA. Her father, Gerald, was a lawyer while mother, Kate McCauley, was an actress who inspired Hathaway to follow the same creative path. Hathaway's natural talents proved to be far more evolved than the average high school theater star, resulting in the teenager being accepted into the prestigious Barrow Group Theater Company in New York City.

She was offered a role in the short-lived television drama "Get Real" (Fox, 1999-2000). After a stint in Hollywood, Hathaway returned to graduate from Millburn High School and studied at the academically competitive Vassar College before transferring to New York University. In New York City, she was able to maintain a presence in the acting world while also maintaining a down-to-earth life with students her age.

The slip convinced Marshall that Hathaway was perfect for the role of the awkward American teenager who discovers she is a princess after the death of her absent father, and is groomed for the throne by her regal grandmother (Julie Andrews). Marshall - who had directed "Pretty Woman" (1990) - also saw more than a fleeting glimpse of a Julia Roberts-like look and feel to Hathaway's performance.

Her followed up with a role as beguiling artist Madeline Bray in the Dickens adaptation "Nicholas Nickleby" (2002), which was one of the year's critical picks and a Golden Globe nominee for Best Picture. That year, she also made her Broadway debut as the lead in a revival of "Carnival!" and impressed critics with her well-rounded song and dance talents.

She earned widespread critical praise for "Love and Other Drugs" (2010), in which she played the alluring and free-spirited Maggie, who develops a powerfully intoxicating romance with a charming pharmaceutical rep (Jake Gyllenhaal). Her acclaimed performance once again brought forth Oscar talk that first led to a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress, while only weeks prior, she was announced as co-host along with James Franco of the 83rd Annual Academy Awards.

Ali Lohan was born on 22th December 1993, in New York, New York, to parents Dina and Michael Lohan. Her siblings are Dakota (Cody), Michael and Lindsay, seven years her senior. She started out as a baby model at the age of 2. Her first job was with kid's clothes outlet The Children's Place.

With several TV ad appearances to her credit, 4-year-old Ali Lohan made her feature film debut as a brief flash on the screen as the child in an airport scene in 1998's The Parent Trap, starring Lindsay Lohan in a dual role. She'd have to wait a few years yet for meatier roles, as she was next featured in cameos as “Girl at Football Stands” in the 2000 TV movie Life.

In 2005, Ali Lohan was given the opportunity to portray her older sister as a child for Lindsay's “Confessions Of A Broken Heart" music video. That same year, she kicked off her career as a singer with the release of the single "Rockin' Around The Christmas Tree.

Who also manages her daughter's career, debuted on the E! network in May 2008. The show's main focus was on the recording of her second album, Interpersonal, at Maloof Music studios in Las Vegas' Palms Casino. Ali Lohan also made her acting debut in 2008, playing Traci in the straight-to-DVD kid's horror flick Mostly Ghostly.

The Kardashians yet -- and you secretly can't help but respect their business savvy -- snap up some of their new designs for the Kardashian Kollection at Sears. The line seems pretty affordable compared to most, priced at $22 to $99 regularly, but you can land a 30 percent discount during the store's 72-hour presale, going on now through August 10.While it's less expensive than most of the Kardashians' couture costs, the fashions do look like garments the girls would wear.

The collection includes a leopard-print jumpsuit that I could definitely see on Kourtney, a black-and-white one-shoulder dress in the style of Khloe, and fancy footwear that is very similar to the spiked heels Kim often wears. The trio is also selling notice-me jewelry, chain handbags, and lacy lingerie.Of course, the big question is whether or not fans will want to buy the glam Kardashian sisters' looks at a discount store where I'm almost certain the trio never shops.

Fiona Apple was born on 13th September 1977 is a Grammy-winning American singer-songwriter. She gained popularity through her 1996 album Tidal, especially with the single "Criminal" and its music video. Her music is influenced by everything from early jazz, pop, to alt-rock. It is also characterized by Apple's candid personal lyrics and imaginative productions, often featuring idiosyncratic arrangements with instruments as varied as the french horn and optigan.

"Criminal," the third single, became Apple's breakthrough hit. The song reached the top forty on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, while the controversial Mark Romanek-directed music video ? in which a scantily-clad Apple cavorted in a '70s-era tract house ? became very popular on MTV. Apple later said: "I decided if I was going to be exploited, then I would do the exploiting myself"

It did not fare as well commercially as her debut, though it was an RIAA-certified platinum album and sold 1 million copies in the U.S. The album's lead single, "Fast as You Can", reached the top 20 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart and became Apple's first Top 40 hit in the UK. The videos for two follow-up singles, "Paper Bag" and "Limp" (directed by then-boyfriend Anderson), received very little play.

Apple recorded a cover of "Sally's Song" for the special edition release of the soundtrack, released in 2006, for the Tim Burton film The Nightmare Before Christmas. In May 2006 Apple paid tribute to Elvis Costello on VH1's concert series Decades Rock Live by performing Costello's hit "I Want You"; her version was subsequently released as a digital single.

Juliette Lewis was born on 21th June 1973, in Los Angeles, California, USA, Lewis was the daughter of film and television player Geoffrey Lewis and mother Glenis, a graphic artist, who had seven marriages and 11 children between them. Lewis wanted to be an actor from the time she was six, and when she was a teen she landed her first "daughter" roles in the Showtime.

The following year she gave a breakout performance as the thumb-sucking nymphet struggling for independence from her warring parents in Martin Scorsese's chilling remake of "Cape Fear" (1991), which earned her an Academy Award nomination as Best Supporting Actress.

Lewis was back on the road in Oliver Stone's satirical take on the media,"Natural Born Killers" (1994), where she shared sociopathic tendencies with fellow love-thug Woody Harrelson during a Southwest killing spree. To her credit, Lewis ably captured the frighteningly odd emptiness of her character's moral inattention.

She resurfaced with a vengeance in "Whip It" (2009), Drew Barrymore's directorial debut in which Lewis co-starred as the coach of a female roller-derby teen and the terrifying archrival of a newcomer on the circuit (Ellen Page). With its all-star cast of favorite indie film actresses, the film positioned Lewis to regain her big screen visibility and remind viewers of her fiery onscreen appeal.

Terminator Actor Schwarzenegger recycled an old gag T-shirt while exercising in Santa Monica on Sunday. As the photo (originally at TMZ) shows, the former California governor and actor, 64, donned a shirt that read "I survived Maria" on the back.

On the front of the shirt the dates "2007-2010" appear, but "2007" is crossed out, replaced with "1977.""Maria" would be Maria Shriver, his wife of 25 years, whom he began dating back in 1977.

He and 55-year-old Shriver, of course, are headed for divorce following his admission of a secret 13-year-old love child with former housekeeper Mildred "Patty" Baena.

But Schwarzenegger's choice of T-shirt wasn't quite as cruel as it sounds. TMZ reports that he received the clothing item last November during a farewell party for the Governor's staff.

Despite the shocking drama, the former couple (they announced their split this May) are on good terms as they work through their divorce.

Last month the pair banded together last month as their youngest son Christopher, 13, was hospitalized following a serious surfing accident.

The family -- which also includes son Patrick, 17, and daughters Katherine, 21, and Christina, 19 -- was also all together for a lunch in honor of the patriarch's July 30 birthday.

Christina Milian was born on 26th September 1981 in Jersey City, New Jersey, United States. NJ to Cuban immigrants Don and Carmen Flores. The oldest of three daughters, Milian’s family moved to Maryland shortly after her birth. After figuring out early on that acting was in her blood.

The budding actress soon exhausted all of the opportunities Maryland could offer, so Carmen Flores, realizing her daughter’s potential, moved to Los Angeles with her three daughters when Milian was only 13 years old. Milian’s father stayed behind in Maryland. Moving to Los Angeles ended up making the singer’s dreams come true, but they came at a price.

Milian lent her considerable vocal talents to a small role in the animated feature “A Bug’s Life.” The following year, the attractive actress landed another small part, playing the unlikely role of a band geek in the hit teenage gross-out feature film franchise, “American Pie” (1999). As any struggling actress, she continued adding small roles to her resume, guest appearing on television.

Going back to her first love, Milian returned to the big screen in the teenage horror flick “Pulse” (2006) – a teen horror flick about a group of college students being terrorized by evil spirits living in computers. The film also starred Kristen Belle of “Veronica Mars” (WB 2004- ) fame and was penned by horror legend Wes Craven.

Kelly Rowland had a double nip slip during a performance Sunday in West Orange, NJ. The 30-year-old former Destiny's Child member was wearing a revealing, bra-like top that rode up during her performance.

Despite inadvertently revealing herself, the singer, who will be a judge on this season's X-Factor in the UK, seemed in good spirits.

"New Jersey crowd was amazing," she tweeted Sunday. "Hope you enjoyed the show and didn't mind the peekaboo.

LOL... Stuff happens."On July 26, Rowland reunited with her former bandmates Beyonce and Michelle Williams for the launch party of her third solo album Here I Am.

"The inspiration [for the album] was feeling like a woman now, like a grown-ass woman and wanting to express every side of that," she told Us Weekly. "I even tapped into more of a sensual side."

Emmanuelle Chriqui was born on December 10, 1977 in Montreal, Quebec, CA.Chriqui (pronounced "Shreeky") moved with her family from Montreal to Toronto at an early age, spending her childhood in the suburb of Unionville. The acting bug bit after she was cast in a local theater production at age seven, and by 10, she logged her first job in a Canadian commercial for McDonald's.

Her first major Hollywood film role came in 1999 with a supporting turn in the goofball comedy "Detroit Rock City," which was quickly followed by the popular Nickelodeon big-screen kids' flick "Snow Day" (2000). Chriqui next shot scenes for three major film and television productions - Steven Spielberg's "A.I." (2001), Todd Solondz's "Storytelling" (2001), and the series "Manchester Prep" (1999).

Chriqui soldiered on and began paying her dues in a string of largely forgettable theatrical releases, including the grim "On the Line" (2001), starring 'N SYNC's Lance Bass and J y Fatone, as well as the wretched horror flick "Wrong Turn" (2003). In 2005, she witnessed a turn in fortune in regard to the quality of her projects - an appearance as herself on HBO's short-lived improvisational series "Unscripted" (2005) was followed by a two-episode turn on "The O.C.

It was for a much more auspicious occasion - to join Mark Wahlberg's Hollywood series "Entourage" in a recurring role as Sloan Mackewich, daughter to Malcolm McDowell's Terence Mackewich, nemesis of agent Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven). Initially targeted by lothario lead Vince (Adrian Grenier), Sloan took a shine to his friend and manager Eric (Kevin Connolly) and introduced a little happiness into his high-pressure life.

Hilary Duff was born on 28th September 1987 in Houston, Texas, USA. Her father, Robert Erhard Duff, owned a chain of convenience stores, while her mother, Susan Colleen, was a homemaker. She had an older sister named Haylie who started acting and singing in preschool.

She wanted to follow in her sister’s footsteps, and after the pair booked a few commercials in Texas, Susan decided to move with her daughters to Los Angeles for pilot season. When Duff was nine, she worked on a pilot with her sister titled “The Underworld” that never came to light. She had minor roles in the films “True Women” (1997) and “Playing by Heart” (1998) before getting her first starring role in the direct-to-video project “Casper Meets Wendy” (1998).

She was also in control of a business empire, as CEO of the clothing line “Stuff by Hilary Duff.” In September 2006, she released the fragrance “With Love,” a Hilary doll for Mattel, and appeared in the Electronic Arts video game “The Sims 2: Pets” along with her dog Lola.

It was reported that she was offered the lead role in the CW Network’s remake of “Beverly Hills, 90210” (2008 - ), but she turned it down because she wanted to move away from the teen genre. Duff instead worked on the independent film “Greta” (2008) with Academy Award winner Ellen Burstyn and the dark comedy “Safety Glass” (2009).

Before Joel Madden and Nicole Richie became parents and got hitched, they kicked back in a four bedroom, four bathroom bachelor pad located in Glendale, Calif., which is now seeking a lessee who's willing to pay a cool $5,950 a month!

No word if Madden is one of those landlords who is including utilities in the near $6,000 rent, but E! Online reports that the cost for a gardener is part of the hefty monthly price tag. In addition, the home, which was featured on MTV Cribs, comes fully furnished and has three fireplaces, plus a sprawling backyard.

Taylor Lautner, 19, recently dropped some serious cash on a star-worthy sexy new ride - a 2012 SLS AMG Mercedes-Benz priced at more than $200,000.

Taylor told Access Hollywood of his impressive new wheels at the 2011 Hollywood Foreign Press Association Luncheon in Beverly Hills on Thursday.

I've been driving my first car for the past four and a half years and I've always had my eye on this car."

The heartthrob - who looked dapper in a suit by Calvin Klein - said the privilege of being able to afford a car of such high caliber has not been lost on him.

In addition to the incredibly highly anticipated upcoming "Breaking Dawn" films, Taylor will next be seen in John Singleton's action thriller, "Abduction," alongside Lily Collins, Alfred Molina and Sigourney Weaver.

I'm super excited -- it's coming out in like a month and a half now," Taylor told Access of his "Abduction" anticipation.

It was a fast process -- we filmed it last summer," he added. "But it's been a journey since then.

It's coming together really well. I can't wait for everyone to see it."Catch Taylor on the big screen when "Abduction" hits theaters on September 23.

Cheryl Tweedy was born on June 30, 1983 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, UK. She is a young singer. Cheryl began her modeling career at the tender age of 6 when she won the prestigious World Star of Future Modeling competition. And she didn’t stop there. In the years that followed, she was named “Best Looking Girl of Newcastle,” “Most Attractive Girl” at the Metro Square, and she starred in a string of popular commercials seen throughout the British Isles.

Despite her success as a dancer, Cheryl’s true love was singing and she longed for the opportunity to show off her dazzling vocal prowess.Luckily, she was given a chance to do just that in 2002, when ITV1 held an open audition for their new reality show, Popstars: The Rivals. “I was working as a waitress at the time,” Cheryl recalls. “I saw Popstars would be about two new bands, so I just thought I’d give an audition a go.”

Unfortunately, Cheryl made news for all the wrong reasons later that year when she was convicted of assaulting a toilet attendant at a nightclub in Guilford. Although she was cleared of all charges of racially aggravated assault, Cheryl was found guilty of occasioning actual bodily harm and was sentenced to 120 hours of community service. According to Cheryl, the incident brought her down to earth.

The disc was also equally popular with the group’s loyal fans who made Chemistry Girls Aloud’s third consecutive platinum-selling record.Girls Aloud hit the charts again in September 2006 with the release of their first greatest hits compilation, The Sound of Girls Aloud. The album debuted at No. 1 on the U.K. charts, and went on to sell an impressive 84,000 copies in its first week.

Summer lovin' happened so fast for Ryan Reynolds and Charlize Theron! After just two months, the big screen pair has called off their romance, Us Weekly reported. He only wanted something casual, but she's in a rush to settle down, have kids and start a family since she's getting older," a mag source claimed.

She didn't take it very well when he broke it off. She knows deep down that it wouldn't have worked, but she is pretty bummed out about it all," the source continued. The pair's busy work schedules were also to blame for their romance ending.

"They're both too busy," a friend of the "Prometheus" actress told the mag. "And they were hardly ever together anyway.Ryan and Charlize's romance was first reported in July after the actor's motorcycle was spotted at Charlize's house and he was spotted exiting the home just moments before the actress.

In June, Charlize appeared on CNN's "Piers Morgan Tonight" where she said she was single. She also noted that she was looking for a serious relationship, but not necessarily marriage.I really want for myself a long-term relationship, and I have been in long-term relationships," she said at the time. "That's the kind of union that I want. The actual ceremony is not something that is important to me, but I see the importance for other people.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes trumped The Change-Up at the weekend box office, Box Office Mojo reports. The prequel to the 1969 film, starring James Franco, grossed an estimated $54 million in its first weekend of release. The Smurfs, last weekend's No. 1 film after final figures were in, drew $21 million in its second week. Cowboys & Aliens lassoed $15.7 million to come in third.

The weekend's other new release, The Change-Up, grabbed $13.5 million in its first weekend to take the No. 4 spot. Captain America: The First Avenger came in fifth with $13 million, for a three-week total of $143.2 million.Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 raked in $12.16 million, to rank No. 6 (and a total of $342.8 million). Following in seventh place with $12.1 million was Crazy, Stupid, Love.Rounding out the top 10: Friends with Benefits (No. 8, $4.7 million), Horrible Bosses (No. 9, $4.6 million) and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (No. 10, $3 million — and a cumulative domestic gross of $344.2 million).

When a reporter inquired as to why the ex-boy band singer was sticking his big toe in the acting pool, Kunis shot back, asking "What sort of question is that? Why are you here?" Not only is it admirable that the hot starlet jumped to her buddy's defense, it's was most fascinating to hear her do it in Russian. Many of her fans may not realize that she was born in the Ukraine and English is her second language.

Some were born outside the United States and speak another language, while others learned foreign languages in school. While none of us are surprised to hear that stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger, America Ferrara or Jean-Claude Van Damme speak a language other than English, others may surprise you.Kim Cattrall is best known for playing the role of saucy Samantha Jones in the "Sex and the City" TV shows and movies. Many fans do not know that the actress speaks fluent German. During the 1980s, she was married to her second husband, Andre J. Lyson. During the course of their relationship, the couple lived in Frankfurt.

He also has proven that he has a knack for mastering a foreign language. When the sports superstar was just a lad, his dad uprooted the family and moved them to Italy in pursuit of his own basketball career. While frolicking on the playgrounds in Italy, the future LA Laker learned speak Italian.Unlike Cattrall and Bryant, English is a second language to Charlize Theron, not the first. The "Monster" star was born in South Africa, and her first words were uttered in Afrikaans. She didn't learn English until she was a teenager, acquiring a mastery of the language watching American TV shows. Interesting fact.

Many Japanese language courses while attending school. After graduation, the star of "The Incredible Hulk" moved to Osaka, Japan to work as a consultant for his grandfather's business. While not 100% fluent, the actor doesn't seem like he'll ever have a problem ordering saki and sashimi on his next East Asian excursion.Jodie Foster attended a fancy French-language prep school, eventually graduating as her class' valedictorian. Thanks to her education, she is now fluent in French and speaks it perfectly without an accent.

We still haven't chosen our 1st dance song! Any suggestions? So many good songs!" the E! star tweeted on Saturday.

How about "ICE ICE BABY?" while Lisa Rinna responded with "'I Will Always Love You' by Whitney Houston written by Dolly Parton.

Such a gorgeous song for a first dance!"No word on whether or not Kardashian, 30, and Humphries, 26, have decided on their first-dance tune.

But Kardashian did send out a follow-up tweet saying, "I am seeing all of your songs for my 1st dance and loving all of the suggestions!

For those who won't be there first-hand to watch the couple waltz across the dance floor, they can tune into all the glitz and glamour during two-part special Kim's Fairytale Wedding.

Anne Hathaway as sexy Selina "Catwoman" Kyle in "The Dark Knight Rises." The costume is different from previous Catwoman outfits and doesn't include cat ears like Halle Berry's 2004 outfit.Warner Bros. has been keeping details about the movie under wraps only revealing small bits and pieces of the movie. When grilled about her role Hathaway said, "I signed a blood oath," refusing to give up the goods.

Here are our favorite celebrity superheroes.Although George Clooney admitted himself the movie "Batman and Robin" where he played Batman was quite arguably one of the first films ever made, he still looked super sexy in his form fitting costume.

In "Ironman" Downey plays a billionaire entrepreneur with a flair for mechanics. His toned bod, superhero wit and charming smile made us want to swoon. We barely remember this movie. What was the plot again? We were way too busy being distracted by Aussie actor Chris Hemsworth's sexy chest and biceps the size of tree trunks.

We think this time parents really do understand, Will! The former Fresh Prince Will Smith is looking fly in "Hancock," a movie about a hard-living superhero who has fallen out of favor with the public and enters into an interesting relationship with a woman. We don't know why this movie received such bad reviews, this is one superhero I don't think any girl would mind falling for!

Okay, so he wasn't necessarily a superhero in "The Dark Knight" but Heath Ledger's portrayal of The Joker left us cringing in our seats. We think The Joker's bad boy attitude is kind of hot if you're into the whole guy wearing makeup and killing people thing, which we totally are (sometimes). Ledger's untimely death after filming left fans around the world saddened but we still pay tribute to his legacy by watching his bad boy role.
